XL 25 also tests your logical thinking and visual memory skills to the fill. The Object of the game is to light up all 25 squares on the game grid at the same time by pressing as few pressure sensitive squares as possible. But solving "XL 25" is not as easy as it seems because if any squares, activated by a move, overlap with squares which are already lit the duplicated squares immediately go out - this is the frustration of "LX 25". Runs on 6 volts regulated DC adaptor 4xMN 1500 (AA size) batteries, not included FEATURES INCLUDE: Powerful computerised memory - battery or mains powered - two game playing modes - pressure sensitive controls - sound effects with victory fanfare - automatic scoring function - game status store/recall facility - random pattern generator - pocket sized, easy to hold - suitable for ages 7 to adult STORE/RECALL Memorises an interrupted game for up to 200 hours. NEW GAME Starts a new game whenever you want one. RANDOM START Generates random starting positions. CROSS/KNIGHT: SCORE Selects playing mode for game. Shows score on game grid at any time during game. SOUND Turns the sound effects on or off at any time during the game. "XL 25" can be solved from any starting position using either the Cross or Chess Knight playing pattern. The Cross Plating Pattern - is "XL 25's" basic playing mode. By pressing any square on the game grid 5 squares will automatically light up forming a cross around that square. (See fig I). But beware! whenever the crosses overlap the duplicated squares, which are already lit, will go out. (e.g. two squares in any direction plus one to the left or right). With "XL 25" all the squares a Knight could move to from any given square will light up including the square pressed. As before the player has to light up the whole game grid by building up a series of Chess Knight patterns (See fig II). O X O X O X O O O X O O X O O X O O O X O X O X O fig II
